When Work at Home Moms Attack

Have you ever tried networking? Message boards are a wonderful way to get to know other work at home moms and improve your business--but if done in bad fashion, it can get nothing but ugly! Sometimes people are so busy trying to gain new recruits for their business, that they forget how to listen and be polite!

There`s more to networking than just getting--it`s giving too. Here`s a few tips to keep from being a work at home mom on the attack! When someone asks about information from a candle rep and would like to get into this type of business; and you happen to sell vitamins, don`t reply with the in`s and out`s of your business. It`s rude.

Instead, you could offer the names of a few ladies you know that do sell candles and send some business their way. One good turn deserves another and maybe if someone inquires about the vitamin business, you`ll be recommended by someone else. If someone asks you about what you do and requests information about your business, by all means--send them the information. But, if that person states they are not interested after reading over what you had sent them, do not keep the ball rolling and tell them they might be missing out on the best opportunity in the world and they must not want to be successful, and keep pushing them to get involved; that`s a no-no. Instead, simply thank them for their time and explain that if they ever change their minds, you are available to help them in the future.

That`s just good business. Do not spam message boards with your commercials--It`s a huge turn off! It`s fine to introduce yourself and what you are doing for work, but let the ladies get to know you for you--and leave your business information in your signatures. If people are interested in what you do, they will look you up. Sure, it`s great to promote your business, but try to do so with some finesse--and be sure when you do post special offers, ads, and sales, that you place them in the proper designated place on that message board. Lastly, be kind to others and help out when you can.

The whole reason women flock to message boards for moms is to find help, and maybe make a friend or two along the way. Sure--we all want to get ahead in our pursuit of working from home and make our businesses the best they can be. But, we need to do so without stepping on any toes or hurting any feelings. Let`s face it, when we gather at any work at home website, community or message board, we`re all looking to network with other moms to grow our businesses, but we should have a sense of support and honesty too. Be a good cyber neighbor and help a fellow mom out--you`ll get out of networking what you put into it.
